🍎 Welcome Our New Staff!
We're excited to welcome several new teachers and staff members to the Sunrise family!

Hi! My name is Abby Boyer. My boyfriend, Jack, and I have been together for six years, and we have a beautiful baby girl named Baylor. I am so excited to join the Sunrise family!
I grew up in DeSoto and graduated in 2021. I then attended Jefferson College, where I graduated in 2023. After that, I continued my education at Missouri Baptist University and graduated in May 2026.
I worked as a childcare provider for four and a half years before beginning my student teaching here at Sunrise in first grade. Now, I am starting my first year of teaching! I am so excited to meet my students and have a wonderful year together!

Hello! My name is Stacey English, and I am so excited to be joining the Sunrise family as a first-grade teacher!
I am a proud mom of four wonderful daughters. My two oldest are teenagers, and my youngest daughters, Savannah and Zoey, will be attending Sunrise this year as a first grader and kindergartener. Sunrise has always held a special place in my heart. My mom and her siblings attended Sunrise, I attended Sunrise, and for the past 12 years I have been fortunate to be part of this amazing school community as a parent, volunteer, substitute teacher, and paraprofessional. It is truly a blessing to now begin this new chapter as a classroom teacher.
Sunrise feels like home, and I am excited to continue building meaningful relationships with our students, families, and community. I am passionate about creating a classroom where every child feels loved, encouraged, and inspired to learn.
When I'm not at school, you'll likely find me reading a good book, building LEGO® flower sets, or spending time shopping and making memories with family and friends. I love learning new things and can't wait to share that excitement with my first-grade students as we learn, grow, and have fun together this year!
I am looking forward to an amazing school year and can't wait to meet all of my wonderful students and their families!

My name is Jennifer Smith (Nurse Jen). I have been a RN for 24 years. I worked in an acute care hospital for 18 years with the majority of the years in pediatric setting and a few years in the emergency room caring for adults and children. I was a CNA in sub acute care for 5 years before becoming an RN. During that time I cared for patients with tracheostomy’s and Gastrostomy tubes and all other long term care needs. At my last school I was heavily involved with Special Education and IEPs/504s.
Besides being a nurse I am a wife to my husband Ryan and mother to 2 daughters Sierra (27), Brooke (23). We relocated from the Central Valley of California in May of 2025 to be closer to my sister Mrs. Laybourn. We love it here in Missouri and wish we would have moved sooner.
I am excited to help care for your children. I have an open door policy and encourage you to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Mr. Wiebe will be teaching Social Studies, English Language Arts, and Writing and is looking forward to helping students become confident learners, critical thinkers, and lifelong readers.
This school year marks Mr. Wiebe's sixth year in education. Before beginning his teaching career, he proudly served eight years in the United States Marine Corps.
Outside of school, Mr. Wiebe enjoys spending time with his wife, their three sons, and their two dogs. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, collecting retro video games and gaming systems, adding to his sports memorabilia collection, and traveling with his family. He can often be found cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, St. Louis CITY SC, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mr. Wiebe is passionate about creating a classroom where students feel welcomed, challenged, and supported. He believes that strong relationships, curiosity, and a love of learning are the foundation for student success. He is excited to become part of the Sunrise School District family and looks forward to an outstanding school year with his students and their families.
We can't wait to welcome everyone back for an amazing 2026–2027 school year. It's going to be a great year to Be a Game Changer!
